Founded in 1886, PFA is the oldest forest conservation organization in North America. The Pennsylvania Forestry Association is a broad-based citizen’s organization that provides leadership and education in sound, science-based forest management and promotes stewardship to ensure the sustainability of all forest resources, resulting in benefits for all, today and into the future.



The Association of Consulting Foresters, Inc.

The Association of Consulting Foresters is a private organization dedicated to advancing the practice of professional forestry for the benefit of society. Foresters with an ACF designation have university degrees from programs accredited by the Society of American Foresters, have appropriate work experience in the field of forestry, work full-time as consulting foresters and adhere to a strict code of ethics.

The Society of American Foresters is a scientific and educational organization, representing the forestry profession in the USA. Its mission is to advance the science, education, and practice of forestry; enhance the competency of its members; establish professional excellence; and, use the knowledge, skills and conservation ethic of the profession to ensure the continued health and use of forest ecosystems and the present and future availability of forest resources to benefit society.
