PENNSYLVANIA RECIPROCITY WITH OUT-OF-STATE LOGGER TRAINING PROGRAMS

If taking a course not hosted by the Pennsylvania SFI Professional Timber Harvester Training Program, participants are responsible for submitting the training to the Pennsylvania SFI Implementation Committee. To transfer credits from the training programs listed below, you must submit a completed copy of the "Non-PA SFI Course Credit Form," available under the Forms Page on this website, and include all necessary fees and documentation.

MARYLAND / DELAWARE

The Pennsylvania SFI Implementation Committee (PA SIC) has established the following agreement with the Maryland/Delaware SFI Implementation Committee (MD/DE SIC) and Master Logger Steering Committee (MD/DE MLSC):
1. Individual loggers have the responsibility to provide proof of training and any other required forms or fees to the training program from which they are seeking credit.
2. The MD/DE SIC, along with the governing body of its logger training program, the MD/DE Master Logger Steering Committee (MD/DE MLSC), agrees to the following:
a. To provide credit for the "Professional Timber Harvesting Essentials" course in the amount of eight CE credits, or four CE credits and credit for the OSHA Logging Safety core course, whichever is needed by the course participant.
b. To provide 8 CE credits for the Game of Logging - Level 1 course.
c. To provide MD/DE program CE credits for CE credits earned in the PA SIC program on a one credit per one hour basis.
3. The PA SIC, along with the governing body of its logger training program, agrees to the following:
a. To provide PA SIC CE credits for CE credits earned in the MD/DE program on an hour per hour basis in accordance with the PA SIC training program policy.
b. To provide four PA SIC CE credits per MD/DE core course completed.
c. MD/DE core courses are not eligible for PA SIC core training credit.
   
   
NEW YORK

The Pennsylvania SFI Implementation Committee (PA SIC) has established the following agreement with the New York SFI Implementation Committee (NY SIC) and New York Logger Training, Inc. (NYLT):
1. Individual loggers have the responsibility to provide proof of training and any other required forms or fees to the respective training program(s) from which they are seeking credit.
2. Both NYLT and the PA SIC agree to develop an additional training module(s) that meets the "Environmental Concerns" core requirement for each state when requested for workshops by loggers working in both states.
3. The NYLT, along with the support of its logger training program, the New York SFI Implementation Committee (NY SIC), agrees to the following:
a. To accept Game of Logging (GOL) - Level 1 courses administered by a certified GOL instructor as satisfaction for Chainsaw Operation, Safety, & Productivity core training requirement.
b. To recognize current Adult First Aid & CPR certifications administered by a certified instructor as satisfaction for First Aid & CPR core training requirement, and accept CPR for 1/2 credit if it is taken before NY certification expires.
c. To provide credit for the "Professional Timber Harvesting Essentials" course in the amount of 1 CE credit.
d. To provide NYLT CE credits for CE credits earned in the PA SIC program on a one credit per eight hour basis. Individuals will be responsible for independently maintaining their NYLT status in accordance with the CE requirements of the NYLT program.
e. Pennsylvania's "Professional Timber Harvesting Essentials" course will not be accepted as satisfaction of Environmental Concerns core training requirement.
4. The PA SIC, along with the governing body of its logger training program, agrees to the following:
a. To accept NYLT Chainsaw Operation, Safety & Productivity training administered by a certified GOL instructor as satisfaction for the Game of Logging - Level 1 core training requirement.
b. To recognize current First Aid & CPR certifications administered by a certified instructor as satisfaction for First Aid & CPR core training requirement. First Aid & CPR recertification is not eligible for PA SIC program CE credit.
c. To provide PA SIC program credit for the "Forest Ecology and Silviculture" course in the amount of 2 CE credits.
d. To provide PA SIC program credits for CE earned in the NYLT program on a one credit per 4 hour basis. Individuals will be responsible for independently maintaining their PA training status in accordance with the CE requirements of the PA SIC training program.
